3 WAYS TO GET THE MOST VALUE OUT OF YOUR PERSONAL BRANDING PHOTOS

Personal branding photos are a sound investment for your business, one that can vastly enhance your reputation as a professional in your industry. Do you know how to get the most out of using those brand images after the shoot?

Here are some tips to guide you.

  1. CHOOSE A VERSATILE LOCATION

Take your time when choosing a location for your shoot. Ideally, you want a location that will allow you to create multiple stories. For example, a city location would give you access to interesting architecture, coffee shops, co-working spaces: all of which can be used to create different stories for your brand. When scouting locations, consider your outfit choices too. You should select a different outfit for each location you choose, which will give each story more context. An example might be to wear more formal attire if you are having images taken at a desk, but casual / outdoor clothes for a woodland shoot.

2. USE A VARIETY OF IMAGES FROM YOUR SHOOT

If you’ve scheduled a longer brand shoot, rather than a mini session, you will have a wide selection of photos to choose from. Before you start selecting images, make a list of where you want to use your photos. You may find that some photos are better suited to certain platforms over others. It’s ok to share different photos on each social platform, provided they each touch on the core values of your brand and your story.

3. SCHEDULE AND USE YOUR PHOTOS

The worst thing you can do after a shoot is not actually using your photographs! Get the most out of your shoot by making a list of where and when you’d like to use your new photos. You don’t need to upload them all at once, even if you’re super excited about sharing them, but make sure you are using them on the platforms you and your ideal client are most present on. You can start by updating your website, then creating a content and social media calendar that will allow you to promote the rest.

Remember to create a backup of your photos and to update them regularly as you and your personal brand evolve and change.
